Primarily I offer information security services (audits, advice, training) plus Microsoft support and consultancy. I also offer engaging public speaking sessions, having spoken at local meet ups, conferences and given lectures to secondary school and university students. Jonathan is an IT professional with over twenty years' experience working with IT systems ranging from Windows to Linux and in roles from support to development to security. Starting as a teenager at his school, he was part of the team that moved from a Windows NT network to Windows Server 2003, building the Active Directory domain from scratch, including creating Group Policies to configure and secure the environment. Since then he's worked on a variety of systems and developed a passion for Information Security in his early twenties.
He gained an MSc in Professional Computing (with distinction) from Staffordshire University, undertaken through distance learning. His diploma stage project extended PSLogonFailures, a tool to stop brute force attacks on Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) servers. His final dissertation produced a proof of concept solution to allow administrators to remotely monitor systems and fix problems while out and about. In 2020 he certified as an Information Systems Security Professional, gaining (ISC)²'s CISSP qualification.
